Transition Overview
BBT will complete the transition of your services in two phases:
- Phase 1: You will be notified about your Voice Service transition, and equipment and educational materials will be provided if needed.
- Save Your Current Voicemail Greeting: We recommend recording your voicemail greeting externally or taking note of the script for easy re-recording after the transition.

Review Stored Messages: Please review and save any important voicemail messages, as they may not be carried over to the new system.
- Phase 2: Alpine customers have successfully transitioned to BBT’s Hosted Voice Service. For residents in the Fort Stockton area, your phone number(s) are scheduled to switch to BBT’s Hosted Voice Service on January 27th, 2025. To ensure uninterrupted service, please follow the steps outlined in your Installation Guide.
- Complete Part 1 (Steps 1-4) immediately.
- Complete Part 2 (Step 5) on the Firm Port Date provided by BBT.
Installation Guide Highlights
- Connect the provided Ethernet cable and power the device.
- Allow the system to boot and update.
- On the Firm Port Date, connect your phone to the Grandstream HT802 ATA.

Frequently Asked Questions
When will my phone service port to BBT?
Your phone service is scheduled to transition for Fort Stockton customers on January 27, 2025.
Will my internet transition on the same day?
No, the internet transition will occur later. BBT will notify you with the specific date.
Where can I report service issues?
- Voice Service: Contact BBT’s 24/7 Tech Support at 800.592.4781 after the port date.
- Internet Service: Until further notice, contact TDS Tech Support at 855.244.0122.
When will I start receiving bills from BBT?
Alpine customers will start receiving their first bill from BBT between February 5 and 10, 2025. Until January 13, 2025, payments should still be made to TDS. Beginning January 14, 2025, all payments should be directed to BBT.
For Fort Stockton customers, the first BBT invoice is tentatively scheduled for the first week of March 2025. Until further notice, Fort Stockton customers should continue making payments to TDS.
