Big Bend Telecom, LTD., an affiliate of Big Bend Telephone Company (BBT), is pleased to announce that it has entered into a purchase agreement with TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) to acquire TDS internet broadband and voice operations in Alpine and Ft. Stockton Texas. The agreement was signed on Monday, August 19, 2024, and the transfer is expected to be finalized within the fourth quarter of 2024.

BBT has proudly served rural communities in West Texas for over 60 years, providing high-speed fiber internet, voice, and data center solutions to residents, institutions, and businesses across an 18,000 square mile footprint. The company was founded in 1960 by Neville Haynes and is now owned by Neville’s grandson, Justin Haynes, who purchased the company in 2005. BBT is dedicated to bridging the digital divide and investing in innovative solutions to make the digital world more accessible to rural residents.

As part of this acquisition, five local TDS associates will transition to BBT, ensuring continuity of service and support for customers.
